Similarities Between Bingo and Slot Games

Bingo games and slot machine games have one very important point in common – they are both games of chance. A game of chance is one with a random outcome. In bingo, the bingo number called is a random event.  Each draw of the ball is an event that is independent of every other draw of the ball in a fair game where the balls are weighted equally. The last ball drawn has no effect on the next ball drawn. Each outcome is an independent event.

Slot machines are used in every casino and they are also very popular for casino gambling. Slot machines have software that simulates the spinning of the wheels. Pulling the handles starts the stimulation. This software contains a random number generator. The random number generator produces numbers in a way that is consistent with randomness. Each number produced is consistent with a spot on the reel and results in a symbol appearing on the pay line. This process takes place for each of the spinning reels, no matter how many reels. The outcome on each reel is an independent random event. It is independent of the outcome on each of the other reels. The outcome of each spin is independent of the outcome of every other spin. The last spin has no effect on the next spin, as in the game of bingo.

Both bingo and slots are games of chance in which the outcome of the previous event (either a call or a spin) has no effect on the next event. This might be why slots are popular with bingo game players.
